MICHAEL SHANNON Sheds Light On ZOD's 'Flipper Hands', CW Actor Teases NIGHTWING Role... or Lobbies?, More

Man of Steel actor Michael Shannon made waves a few days ago when he seemingly revealed a surprising change to General Zod's anatomy in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, making reference to rubber 'flipper hands' he wore on set. Now, speaking to The Daily Beast, Shannon has clarified that Zod won't actually have flipper hands in Batman v Superman - in fact, Shannon's not in the movie at all.

“I wasn’t there,” said Shannon. “It’s a really awkward situation—I’m in the trailer for a movie that I didn’t work on.” Shannon is referring to a brief moment in the Batman v Superman trailer where Zod's corpse is glimpsed in the possession of Lex Luthor.

Shannon clarified somewhat, saying that he does technically appear in some capacity, though he maintains that his "flipper hands" comment was a joke.

“The thing about the whole Krypton universe, apparently, is that even when you destroy them, there are ghosts,” Shannon said. “The first [film], Jor-El is there even though he’s been dead for lord knows how long. I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it’s like that ghost thing. But I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. I get very nervous."

“Somebody was asking me about this in New York and I made up some ridiculous bullsh-- answer about how my character Zod has flippers, and this went viral on the Internet or something and people have been asking me about that. That is so obviously a complete bullsh-- story, right? But people took it seriously.”

However, Shannon maintains that he'd be willing to return to the franchise - flippers and all.

“Maybe they should add it, I don’t know! Maybe in Part 3, Doomsday will have flipper hands. I mean, look—nothing would make me happier than to work with Zack [Snyder] again, he’s hysterical and he’s a lot of fun to work with.”

Shannon's Doomsday comment may refer to a popular fan theory that Zod's corpse will be used to create Doomsday as a method of fighting Superman.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016.

VAMPIRE DIARIES Actor Teases NIGHTWING Role

Vampire Diaries actor Steven R. McQueen has posted a photo to his Instagram showing a collection of DC Comics memorabilia sent to him by fans, including a Nightwing hoodie, and several Nightwing comic books.

McQueen has lobbied for a role as Nightwing for some time, both independently and through his relationship with CW. However, McQueen has yet to land any superhero role, let alone that of Nightwing.

Due to past issues Arrow co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim has said about using Batman-affiliated characters like Nightwing, it's unlikely the character would appear on any of CW's DC-based shows, though the character has been rumored to appear in TNT's Titans, which is still in development.

Alternate IRON MAN Logos Revealed

Fede Ponce, one of the designers who worked on the first Iron Man film, has revealed a large collection of unused logo designs for the film. Speaking to Film Sketchr, Ponce discussed his time working on Iron Man, as well as other Marvel films such as Thor: The Dark World.

“We go through a lot of iterations and concepts when designing,” said Ponce of his process. “For this particular case, I had read the script and was able to grasp what the director wanted to talk about in this movie. The movie in essence is about redemption, about being broken and being re-born. So the main title had all those elements in it.”
