According to Deadline, Fox's Gotham is reportedly welcoming a new, original villain to its roster in its upcoming second season: a gang leader played by The Wire actor Leo Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick will reportedly play Joe Pike, the leader of a gang of arsonists calling themselves the Pike Brothers.

Deadline describes Fitzpatrick's Gotham character of Joe Pike as someone original to the Fox series and not based on any DC Comics character. Interestingly though, the name "Pike" has been used several times in DC lore from the future version of the Spectre, Taylor Pike, in the Tangent Comics imprint, and also the villain Pike from Wildc.a.t.s.. A "Joseph Pike" appeared briefly in Frank Miller's Daredevil run, as a two-bit criminal.

The second season of Gotham begins September 21 on Fox.
