There's been a feud brewing for months now between Arrow star Stephen Amell and WWE wrestler Stardust (played by Cody Runnels). The pair have gone back and forth both in person and over Twitter, with Amell and Stardust both hinting at a confrontation to come.
Well, now it seems as though that time has arrived. On Monday's episode of WWE's Monday Night Raw, Stardust once again alluded to Amell, asking who could "be his hero," and making the sign of a bow and arrow.
Amell was quick to respond, delivering the message via Twitter that he would appear on next week's episode of Raw to finally confront Stardust in the ring.
WWE later confirmed Amell's impending appearance on Raw in a press release, stating “Actor Stephen Amell, who plays the title role on the hit series Arrow, will guest star on WWE's Monday Night Raw next Monday, August 10, at 8/7C on USA Network. After several visits to Monday Night Raw, Amell will be appearing as a guest star for the first time.”
The exact nature of their confrontation has yet to be determined, but Stardust has been calling out Amell as Arrow, and WWE used an image of Amell in costume to promote the event. It wouldn't be the first time Amell had made a public appearance in costume, either, having appeared at Comic-Con International: San Diego's DC TV panel as Arrow. While that may seem odd, professional wrestling and superhero comic books have often overlapped in the past in everything from wrestling being a part of Spider-Man's origin to wrestlers based on comic books appearing in WWE, WCW and other promotions.
Arrow season 4 premieres October 7, 2015 on CW.
