The long-in-development movie based on Paul Pope's Battling Boy graphic novel has found it's director, according to Variety, with Patrick Osborne. Osborne is an animation vet, having worked for Disney on Big Hero 6, Wreck-It Ralph and Tangled, as well as directing the recent animated short Feast.

Battling Boy was optioned back in 2008 by Plan B Entertainment, which is co-owned by Brad Pitt, and is set up at Paramount. :01 First Second published the graphic novel in 2013.

This comes on the heels of news that another work by Pope, One Trick Rip-Off, is in development for a live-action movie from the new start-up shingle called Modern Prometheus. The film is to be directed by the company's founder, Sridhar Reddy, who worked with Pope on a short film titled 7x6x2.
