Speaking to NPR about their upcoming directorial debut Vacation, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein opened up about writing Marvel and Sony's still unititled Spider-Man reboot.
“We can finally acknowledge that,” said Daley. “We’ve been saying 'no comment' for the last week,” added Goldstein.
"This is the first time we can acknowledge that," Daley said, with Goldstein chiming in, "We're thrilled."
Speaking on Peter Parker's roots as a geeky kid with a sense of humor, Daley said “He's a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he's an outcast and a geek through humor. It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he's coming from,” before jokingly adding “As well as the superpowers, which we also have.”
The untitled Spider-Man reboot stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, and is directed by Jon Watts. It's set to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
