Someone once said, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

At a red carpet event for his upcoming film End of the Tour in which he plays a journalist, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor Jesse Eisenberg compared his experience at Comic-Con International: San Diego this past weekend to "genocide."

"It is like being screamed at by thousands of people," Eisenberg told the AP (via Yahoo). "I don't know what the experience is throughout history, probably some kind of genocide. I can't think of anything that's equivalent.”

Whether he intended to be snarky or combative, Eisenberg appears to be commenting about the nature of journalism earlier in the interview, explaning how in researching his role as a journalist he now "understand the pariahs that you guys are."

Whether or not his "genocide" comment are an extension of the point he was trying to make about the experience of being a public figure and on the wrong side of unwanted attention is unclear.
