It's only been hours since Tom Holland was announced as playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, and now there's confirmation that he'll make his debut before 2017's Spider-Man.

In a The Hollywood Reporter interview with Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige and Ant-Man star Paul Rudd, THR confirms that Holland is reporting to the Captain America: Civil War set in Georgia to film scenes for the 2016 film.

"Holland will report immediately to the set of the currently shooting Captain America: Civil War, which Marvel has scheduled for a May 6, 2016, release and in which the newest Spider-Man will make his first onscreen appearance," reports THR's Gregg Kilday.

In the original Civil War comic book series, Spider-Man had a pivotal role on the side of Iron Man, and later Captain America, and revealed his identity of Peter Parker to the world.
