Anime News Network reports that a manga prequel to his year's Avengers: Age of Ultron movie will be published in the July 1 edition of the Japanese Shonen Magazine. Titled Avengers: Age of Ultron Episode O, the standalone story by Ixion Saga manga-ka Yusaku Komiyama will be focused on Tony Stark.
"Tony Stark, the hero who is covered in wounds, is worried," reads the Shonen Magazine announce, as translated by ANN. "Is continuing to fight really connected to protecting the one he loves? The special one-shot that will be continued in the film itself!"
Marvel's parent company Disney has licensed companion manga stories for the Japanese market previously for Tangled, Wall-E and Big Hero 6 among others, but if this ANN report is accurate Avengers: Age of Ultron Episode 0 would be the first done for one of Marvel Studios' movies.
This one-shot manga will reportedly be published on July 1, three days prior to the Japanese debut of Avengers: Age of Ultron in theatres. There's no word on if Marvel or Disney will be releasing the manga outside Japan.
