Fifth Element director Luc Besson took to Twitter to announce he is set to direct Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, an adaptation of a French graphic novel series by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières that began in 1967. The announcement marks the director’s first tweet ever.

Besson’s adaptation will reportedly star Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Dane DeHaan, along with Cara Delevigne of the upcoming Suicide Squad as main characters Valerian and Laureline, respectively.  No dates have been announced.


Anne Hathaway set to star in kaiju drama COLOSSAL
 
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Dark Knight Rises star Anne Hathaway is set to appear in the upcoming film Colossal. The film, to be written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, features a young woman that returns to her hometown only to discover that she has a strange relationship to a giant monster attacking Tokyo.

The first trailer for the newly announced video game Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has made its way online. The game is the ninth in the franchise’s main series, and will debut later this year. Check out the trailer right here:


BATMAN UNLIMITED: ANIMAL INSTINCTS Hits Shelves

The latest DC animated offering has hit Blu-Ray and DVD in the form of Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts. Animal Instincts sees numerous animal themed villains teaming up to take on the dark knight and Red Robin. Check out a clip from the film right here:
