New Season. New Missions. New Coast.

New York City may be home turf for Marvel, but in the upcoming second season of Agent Carter they're moving out west. ABC has released the plot synopsis for Agent Carter, featuring Peggy making "new friends" when she relocates from NYC to Los Angeles for a new case.

Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

Agent Carter will return in early 2016, once again airing during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mid-season hiatus.

MOCKINGBIRD Spin-off Cancelled To Focus On AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

After initial reports had ABC fast-tracking a second spin-off to Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. featuring Adrianne Palicki as Mockingbird, Deadline reported last week it was dead - and now ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee has confirmed and elaborated on the reasoning according to Zap2It.

"We absolutely love those characters on [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.],'" Lee says. "We think [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.] really hit its creative stride this year. [There's] certainly a possibility of spinning them off. We thought the right time now is to leave them on [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.] because we think it's so strong at the moment and then to bring in Agent Carter in the midseason."

Both Mockingbird and Lance Hunter (played by Nick Blood) will reportedly remain as part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. going forward into its third season.

When asked about the fourth Marvel series in talks for ABC, one being developed by 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley, Lee said according to Variety that it's still in development.

“I can’t talk about the John Ridley one, other than to say that he’s working on it.”

Here's the official log-line for Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3:

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for a dynamic, action-packed third season, as Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) embarks on a deadly new secret mission to protect the world from new threats in the wake of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s wars with Hydra and a rogue faction of Inhumans.
