Deadline is reporting Wednesday evening that Emily VanCamp is reprising her role as Agent 13/Sharon Carter in next May’s Captain America: Civil War.
Last seen at the end of 2013's The Winter Soldier as a new CIA recruit in the fallout of the demise of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was revealed in the film’s final moments Agent 13's real first name is Sharon, but not fully revealed to moviegoers she’s a descendent of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Sharon is Peggy’s niece in the comic books.
Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
SUICIDE SQUAD Set Visit Reveals Another DC Fictional City
Canada’s Entertainment City has an exclusive video report from the Toronto set of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, featuring several behind the scenes shots of cast members Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), JAdewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), and more in character.
The segment also reveals the Toronto location will serve (at least partially) as the fictional Midwestern DC city Midway City for the film, the one-time home to the Silver Age Hawkman and Hawkgirl and the Doom Patrol.
In an interview, Ayer spoke about what he plans to bring to Suicide Squad.
“I’m all about real drama, real performance, and real people, so my twist on this is I'm creating a family, I'm creating a brotherhood here,” he said. “I'm creating a very real chemistry and I have this incredible ensemble of actors led by Will Smith, who are basically playing three-dimensional characters with lives and souls."
Check out the segment here and below it the raw (but watermarked) video footage of the characters on set.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to debut August 5, 2016.
