Marvel has announced via Polygon a new digital first series based on the hugely popular '90's X-Men cartoon. X-Men: '92 brings the team from the iconic animated series back to the battle as part of Secret Wars.

Said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso, "For many of us, animated series based on the Marvel characters, with their exciting and accessible stories, provided a fresh new entry point for a new generation of Marvel fans. Now, through the magic of our digital-only Infinite Comic format, the new Secret Wars digital-exclusive X-Men '92 series will recapture the unique energy of the animated storytelling and continue to grow the legion of Marvel fans."

X-Men: '92 will be ongoing, and is co-written by Chad Bowers and Chris Sims, both self-professed fans of the animated series, with art by Scott Koblish. It premieres digitally in May in Marvel's Infinite format, and will see print in June.
