With Melissa Benoit cast to star in CBS's Supergirl, plans are now underway to find her first for -- and CBS reportedly has someone with just the chops to do it.
TVLine reports that the Supergirl pilot episode will feature Supergirl going up against a character named Lumberjack. Going deep into DC back issues, Lumberjack is a character seen only once -- in 1980's Wonder Woman #268 by Gerry Conway and Jose Delbo. While it might seen like a surprising choice, given the character's sole appearance the Supergirl showrunners might be modifying the character to suit their needs for the story.
TVLine says the casting call for Lumberjack is names Game of Thrones' Rory McCann as what they're aiming for, describing their character as a "big, burly monster of a man, who has battled Kara's cousin in the past." TVLine goes onto say that Lumberjack confronts Supergirl to gage her power level on behalf of an unnamed boss.
