Next month’s Star Wars #1 variant covers are plentiful, reportedly helping push total retailer orders for the Marvel Comics relaunch over the 1 million mark , but whatever the final figure, it likely just got raised by another 10k.

Diamond Comic Distributors have announced another new Star Wars #1 variant, offered by Diamond in partnership with Hasbro Toys. Limited to just 10k copies, the Star Wars #1 – Hasbro PREVIEWS Exclusive Variant, Toy Fair Edition (that’s a mouthful) features a photo image created completely from Hasbro Star Wars Black action figures. The photo cover depicts Darth Vader “during an audience with Emperor Palpatine, flanked by Imperial Stormtroopers with three fan-favorite bounty hunters – IG-88, Boba Fett and Bossk – in the background.“

According to Diamond, the image was staged on a scaled thrown room set, and was not computer enhanced, meaning all of the individual Stormtrooper figures were during he photo shoot and were not Photoshopped in later.

Comic books retailers can place orders for copies now through December 15. Check out the image by clicking on either thumb or if you really want to check out the detail, click on this supersized version.
