It’s looking more and more like the future of the DC Universe will collide with the past - and maybe even sooner than that April 2015 event we keep talking about. The cover of The New 52: Futures End #25, revealed Monday on Hitfix, completes the triptych with the previous two issues’ covers, and shows even more red skies.

And of course, even more Pre-New 52 era costumes and characters - including multiple Supermans fighting multiple Brainiacs (even the supposedly retired one of 5 years later).

So what does this all mean? Well, these next three issues of Futures End, starting with Wednesday’s #23 should be fairly important to the DC Universe. It’s likely no small coincidence that these covers all hit right before New York Comic Con, either, so stay tuned this week for panel coverage where every other fan question is about “red skies” or “pre-52 characters and worlds.” And that crisis that’s looming? Well, there can be little doubt about it now. Here are the original solicitations to these three issues, but don't expect many clues there.
