In a large “Fall TV Spoilers” column on TVLine.com, Arrow was one of the early slides, with lots of new teases by executive producer Marc Guggenheim.
He teases Laurel’s “evolution into Canary” a few episodes into the season, saying that Ted Grant aka Wildcat will be playing a role in her eventual heroic change. In Season 2, she received the jacket her sister wore as, apparently, the first Canary.
Guggenheim also teased the premiere, calling it “a complete inverse” of Season 2 premiere, with Arrow’s heroism being recognized by the denizens of Starling City. “Arrow’s starting to win the hearts of the city,” he says, but when Ray Palmer comes around, Oliver will find he “quite frankly just doesn’t play on this guy’s level.”
Episode 3, meanwhile, will be a Diggle-centric one, and episode 5 is Felicity’s origin story (though it’s no longer titled “Oracle”).
Meanwhile, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was teased later in the column, and EP Jeff Bell says, “Once we could say the word HYDRA, it’s been a sprint, and we’re planning to just keep sprinting,” but offered up little in the way of specific teases. The Walking Dead EP Scott Gimple teased “the most intense six minutes” in the series history during the first episode of the season.
