Update: After yesterday's print story, Wednesday the AP released the original video interview. In it, Dwayne Johnson specifically says he "loves anti-heroes," seemingly pointing him back at Black Adam, rather than Shazam. He did intuit that they "just hired a writer," implying he won't show up in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and instead will be in a new, solo film. Check out the first 40 seconds or so of the interview below for the DC Movie portion.
Original Story: According to an AP report, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson spilled the beans - almost - about his upcoming DC Comics role. According to the report, during press for Hercules in Mexico City, Johnson said he’ll be one of two characters: Shazam or Black Adam in an upcoming DC Comics movie adaption, effectively narrowing it down to the same two characters people have been speculating on for months.
”I am putting my heart and soul and my bones into this role,” Johnson said. But he wouldn’t say which role that is, nor where the character will appear. AP implied the superstar would make the decision himself, not have one made for him by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros.
