From out of the recent “The Outsiders” arc in the New 52 directly to TV, another new DC Comics villain is coming to The CW’s Arrow. Matt Ward has been cast as Komodo, a character introduced in the rebooted DC universe.

He’ll be in the series’ second episode of Season 3, according to EW, but he will be connected to the season-long storyline, producer Marc Guggenheim says.

“You’re going to know what happens to Komodo at the end of the episode, but it will be a little bit tied in better with the season-long mythology than villain-of-the-week episodes have done in the past,” he specified.

Guggenheim’s fellow EP Andrew Kreisberg is due to take over writing duties, joined by one of the other writers from the TV series Ben Sokolowski, of the Green Arrow comic book this fall. Komodo was introduced in the comic in just the last year and a half, as one of the members of “The Outsiders.” He’s a direct rival of Arrow’s for the mystical role of the Arrow, an artifact that makes him the head of a clan, alongside others like the Fist, the Sword (of which Katana is a member - who is being played by Devon Aoki this season).
