POWERS Gets its Star, Also Goes Retro

Christian Walker, the former power who now works on Power-related cases for the police, has been cast. The PlayStation Network’s Powers adaptation will star Sharlto Copley, who will join Susan Heyward (fellow detective Deena Pilgrim). The role of Retro Girl has also been cast, with Michelle Forbes stepping into the heroic identity. Of course, fans of the comic may tell you that doesn’t exactly spell out a longterm job for Forbes.

The actors join Eddie Izzard, Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin, Max Fowler, and Adam Godley in the adaptation of the comic book by Brian Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. David Slade is directing the first two episodes with scripts by showrunner Charlie Huston (himself a comic book writing alum). Copley has a significant genre background, with District 9, Elysium, and Maleficent in recent years.
