SUPERIOR IRON MAN To Unleash TONY STARK’s Inner Darkness

Marvel Comics likes it's successful branding tags (think "All-New") and now it's combining two favorites - "Superior" and "Now" - in Superior Iron Man as part of Marvel's just-announced "Avengers Now" initiative .
In new details reported by Mashable.com, Tony Stark will be unleashing the inner darkness he's always possessed on the world.
"Tony Stark's massive ego is about to boil over, causing Iron Man to unleash a version of his volatile Extremis technology on the entire population of San Francisco," reports the website.
As reported Wednesday evening, beginning in November by writer Tom Taylor and artist Yildray Cinar, Superior Iron Man will replace Iron Man for an indefinite (although we're going to guess ultimately finite) run, with Stark relocating to San Francisco. In the storyline the Iron Man creator releases a mobile app version of his Extremis technology (created by Warren Ellis that served as the basis of Iron Man 2) that offers users the promise of "beauty, perfection ... and possibly immortality."
All good things have a price, however, and according to Mashable.com, Stark's dark ambitions will call into question his role as a Marvel Universe good guy.
What Marvel is calling his "mad-genius move" will initially pit him against another new Marvel Universe San Francisco transplant, Daredevil.
As seen by the new images, Iron Man also gets an all-new armor for the series, which according to Mashable.com is "equal parts Apple computer and Tron."
"What we’re doing here is a little different — it’s Tony Stark, the one and only Tony Stark — and in the aftermath of the Axis event, he will surrender to his id and his legendary ego," Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso told Mashable.
"You’ll see Tony in a new place spiritually and intellectually."
Alonso went on to confirm this isn't alternate timeline/universe/dimension Tony Stark, and he isn't being replaced or mind-controlled like Spider-Man was...
"Yes, this is Tony," Alonso said. "What you're seeing in Superior Iron Man is a Tony Stark who’s seen both his worst and best impulses all let loose. It is Tony, but he’s going to be in a zone now where he’s never been. He's more ambitious, cunning, egotistical ... all of those quantities are unharnessed. He has a vision for the world. I like to think his position is defensible — controversial, but defensible."
And of course the new Superior Iron Man won't just be confined to his solo title. Like Superior Spider-Man, he'll be present in crossover Avengers titles, and "make his special brand of trouble all the other Marvel titles with which he's involved."
"Don’t look for anything to contradict this Iron Man for the foreseeable future," Alonso said.
Of course with a 2015 blockbuster film starring the more familiar versions of Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man around the corner, it'll be interesting to see how 'indefinite' all these changes will be.
