Just days after a Fox executive said the studio still wants Bryan Singer to direct X-Men: Apocalypse, Singer himself seems to be indirectly saying he is still involved, at least for now. With an Instagram post, Singer’s first ever on the photo and video-sharing social media service, the writer/director/producer showed off the first page of the script for the movie.
What can be seen on the page seems to indicate they are looking to open with a fifteen minute action sequence that serves as an origin story to Apocalypse, the titular villain. The treatment states this is “Act One, Sequence One 1-15.” It’s being written by Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Michael Dougherty, and Dan Harris, the previously announced writers of the film.
The script itself doesn’t offer much, but it does offer a couple of clues, like “sprawling battle,” the fact that it takes place in Apocalypse aka En Sabah Nur’s birthplace of Egypt (“The Nile is streaked”), and of course the in-print mention of “THE FOUR HORSEMEN,” who alongside Apocalypse were teased in the after-credits scene of May 2014’s hit X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Apparently Singer’s Instagram is one more place fans will want to keep an eye on for the latest about Apocalypse, and he shows no signs of quitting work in the X-Men movie universe for now. Share an Image or File
