Paparazzi mill TMZ has been staking out the set of Star Wars: Episode VII and posting every blurry and partially obscured photo they can, including creatures, vehicles, and sets being built.
Wednesday Morning, director J.J. Abrams addressed the leaked photos in a very cheeky and self-referential way, both shooting down the leaks and confirming one at the same time. Slight spoiler, directly from Abrams, to follow.
Abrams tweeted via his production company Bad Robot, an image of a note card on a prop. The note card says, “I wish people would stop leaking photos from Episode VII. And making ridiculous claims that the Millennium Falcon is in the movie. JJ”
So what’s the funny part here? While denying the Millennium Falcon in the note, the card appears on the prop board for Holochess - the game board that’s found, you guessed it, on the Millennium Falcon. So yes, fans, you’ll likely see the iconic vessel in the December 18, 2015 debuting film, but J.J. would really rather you find such things out via official channels when they’re ready to be shown.
