For almost a year now the world has wondered just what the sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel would be titled. It was recently dubbed "Batman vs. Superman" by Warner Bros. but with the caveat it was a working title only. Wednesday Warner Bros. announced the official full title - Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
In addition to confirming what we already know about the film – that it would feature Superman against Batman – it also formalizes it in a boxing context with the use of “v” as opposed to “vs.” or “versus.”
"Dawn of Justice" of course also serves as a prequel-title to Zack Snyder's follow-up to Batman v. Superman - Justice League - which will be released in 2018 at the earliest.
Principle filming for Dawn of Justice is just beginning, with plans to shoot at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in the Detroit area, in addition to Illinois, Africa and the South Pacific.
