Terry Moore Named NYCC Guest of Honor

Terry Moore: Echo #4 and Beyond

Press Release

New York Comic Con has just announced that Terry Moore will be a Guest of Honor. Mr. Moore is an indy comics pioneer. With his wife Robyn, they self-published the award-winning Strangers in Paradise and 100-plus comic books, 18 graphic novels, and, finally, 4 omnibus compilation volumes. With his new series Echo, Terry carries the torch for self published, creator-owned comics into the 21st century.

New York Comic Con will take place next week, February 6 – 8 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Personal insights about the show, programming and guests are available via Show Manager Lance Fensterman’s blog at www.MediumAtLarge.net.

“I have tremendous respect for Terry and I am so pleased that he will be a Guest of Honor at New York Comic Con,” notes Fensterman. “His status at the show underscores our commitment and respect for the independent spirit of the field, as well as a commitment to diversity as the road to growth. We’re proud to have him alongside so many mainstream and multimedia giants.”

Terry Moore is one of the most critically acclaimed cartoonists of his generation, inside and outside of comics. His work is increasingly popular in the ever growing bookstore and library marketplaces, while remaining a staple of the comic specialty store environment. His dedication to comics extends into his extensive charity work for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and the Hero Initiative. Moore will be supporting the CBLDF at NYCC by leading a seminar on Saturday afternoon, and offering a limited edition print commemorating his appearance at the show.

Fensterman concludes: “A big thanks is in order to Bob Chapman at Graphitti Designs who not only helped bring Terry to New York Comic Con but is also providing Terry a place to work from where he will be signing for most of the weekend.”
