Central City continues to grow with the addition of another member of the police department, as Captain David Singh in the pilot of The Flash. Genre veteran Patrick Sabongui (Fringe, Almost Human, The Tomorrow People) will play the role, introduced late in the “old” DC Comics universe, and a major supporting character in the New 52’s The Flash.
His part in the pilot is described as a “guest star” role by THR, though they say there’s “a chance” his role could be recurring if the show goes to series. In the comic book, Singh is very much in Barry Allen’s corner, though not quite trusted enough to know he’s The Flash.
The Flash is currently at a pilot-only order from The CW, spinning off from their successful DC Comics series Arrow, which has introduced a substantial amount of the DC Universe into their TV world. Grant Gustin stars as Barry Allen, and the show is seeking a series order for the 2014-2015 season.
