Report: NBC's CONSTANTINE Casts 3, Including Female Lead
Lucy Griffiths as Nora in 'True Blood'
Three new cast members have been added to NBC's Constantine pilot, based on the DC comic book character. According to Deadline, joining Matt Ryan in the title role as John Constantine will be True Blood veteran Lucy Griffiths in the female lead opposite Ryan, along with Lost's Harold Perrineau and True Detective's Charles Halford.
The British Griffiths (Nora on True Blood) will reportedly play Liv, the daughter of a late friend of Constantine’s who is targeted by demons, who the "irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective" must intervene to save. "Liv is an offbeat young woman tired of her ordinary life who comes to discover that she has the ability of seeing the supernatural world among us, which makes her a key player in the battle between good and evil. Liv teams up with Constantine to save lives, master her power, and learn more about her late father," reports Deadline.
Perrineau will reportedly play Manny, "an authoritative angel assigned to watch over Constantine who has the power to step into other people’s bodies, and although he is meant only to observe, Manny will not hesitate to help out if he can save a life."
Finally Halford will reportedly play Chas, Constantine’s oldest friend and staunch companion who possesses powerful survival skills that might possibly be supernatural."
The Warner Bros. TV pilot is written by Daniel Cerone from a story he co-wrote with David S. Goyer
