The CW issued early renewal notices for a few of its shows, showing a commitment to their strong genre base.
Of course, the important part of that for our readers is primarily that Arrow has been renewed for season three. Of course, this sounded pretty much a sure thing, as the show has had solid ratings, and even has a spin-off planned, with The Flash pilot hopefully leading to a second series in The CW's version of the DC Universe.
In addition to Arrow, The CW issued 2014-2015 pick-ups for Reign, alongside their pair of Vampire series The Originals and The Vampire Diaries. Supernatural was renewed for a tenth season (a spin-off is in pilot stage for that series, as well).
The CW's press release touted Arrow as their most-watched series with 3.9 million viewers, and #1 in its time slot among 18-34 year-old males. The series has also seen a 25% jump in "digital viewing" in its second season, a figure matched by Vampire Diaries. Supernatural had a 57% increase in digital this season.
