Gotham has another detective watching over the city, as Donal Logue was cast Wednesday
as Detective Harvey Bullock. Bullock will be the young James Gordon's partner and mentor, working alongside Ben McKenzie, who was cast earlier in the series.
Bullock is described as "rough around the edges and plays loose with police procedure - but gets results and does it with old-school, forceful panache."
Gotham was ordered direct-to-series by Fox, though a pilot episode will still be shot. The pilot has been busy casting up this week , with Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot being played by Robin Lord Taylor, Captain Essen being played by Zabryna Guevara, Erin Richards cast as Barbara Kean (Gordon's future wife), and finally Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's butler and guardian.
The series will follow a young Bruce Wayne at age 11 or 12, through to when he becomes Batman several years later (provided the series goes that long). Gordon and Bullock's work in the Gotham Police Department will also be central to the series.
