Marvel editor Nick Lowe is moving away from the mutants he has shepherded since, coincidentally, fellow editor Mike Marts left Marvel to head up the Batman titles for DC Comics. Now Marts has come back to Marvel (in a still unspecified Executive Editor role), and Nick Lowe is leaving the X-Men group to be the new Senior Editor of the Spider-Man titles, effective February 2014.
Lowe moves to Spider-Man just as Peter Parker is due to return to the role of the Amazing web-slinger after over a year away, while Otto Octavius tried to prove he was the "Superior" Spider-Man.
“I’ve loved Spider-Man since I stole my brother’s Spidey comics back in the 90’s!” Senior Editor Nick Lowe said in a press release. “It’s a huge honor to be working on Marvel’s most popular character. After ten years (!) I’m going to miss the X-Men, but I’m excited to join the incredible group of men and women working on books in the Spider-Man Office.”
Former Spidey Senior Editor Stephen Wacker, meanwhile, makes his move to Marvel Animation. The Spider-Man family includes the Spider-Man titles, Black Widow, Daredevil, and more.
