People have been wondering when new superheroes are coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Marvel is teasing today that an Asgardian will be showing up on the TV series.
No, not that one.
Jaimie Alexander will once again suit up as the warrior Sif, this time for the small screen. After helping save the nine realms twice in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, Lady Sif once again returns to Midgard, but Marvel Studios isn't saying exactly why, or exactly when. All they'll say for now is "an upcoming episode."
Now, the DVD and Blu-ray for Thor: The Dark World comes to stores on February 25, 2014, so it would stand to reason we'd see Sif sometime around then, for maximum cross-promotion.
The news follows earlier guest star casting from ABC and Marvel this week, that Bill Paxton will be joining the cast for at least a four-episode run as a former colleague of Agent Coulson's: Agent John Garrett. In the comics, Garrett was severely injured, leading to cybernetic implants to keep him alive - and in the field. With Coulson's recent reveals, along with Michael Peterson's current status, those cybernetics could come into play on the show when he joins the cast, even if it's only for a month.
