An image surfaced on the Internet Wednesday evening - including at the Pretty Much Geek Facebook page - which appears/purports to be the cover to Marvel’s All-Marvel Now Previews #3, the next edition of a free Marvel preview book, the latest issue of which (#2, cover shown here), arrived in stores this week.
Issue #3 is scheduled to arrive in stores on Feb. 5 according to Diamond Comic Distributors, and if this new image is genuine, promises previews for titles shipping in March and April 2014, including Daredevil, Secret Avengers, and Wolverine and the X-Men, all confirmed March “All-New Marvel NOW!” relaunches, along with a title called Amazing Spider-Man #1, by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos..
In addition to the obvious return to the Amazing title either as a relaunch or new launch, the image features what appears to be Ramos art highlighting a smiling Peter Parker (or at least his body) wearing his more traditional pre-Superior Spider-Man costume; the implications of all of this may suggest a return of Peter to the Spider-Man role.
Again, if genuine, the return of the Peter as Spider-Man in mind and body certainly makes sense for March or April as Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2.
Marvel was understandably unavailable to comment on the veracity of the image late Wednesday evening. Look for updates Thursday morning as soon as new information is available.
