We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
Original Story: A new series of three posters making up one larger banner poster started showing up at movie theaters over the weekend, in anticipation of the debut trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 later this week. Aside from showing a large, close-up shot of the revamped costume, the poster also gives a first look at not one, not two, but three villains appearing in the movie.
Yes, we knew Electro was the "main" villain for the film, and we knew Paul Giamatti was playing the man who would become Rhino, but didn't know for sure whether he'd ever be in the suit. That is, apparently, confirmed by these posters. Then there's that guy floating on a glider in the middle - the Green Goblin. Again, while Norman Osborn had been cast, the idea of his alter-ego Green Goblin appearing was only a rumored cameo at best. With his appearance in the villainous form on the poster, there may be more Goblin than first believed.
The poster was first spotted by a fan who posted on his own flickr account, but was later posted in a more official capacity by Sony Pictures' official Amazing Spider-Man facebook account. With the first trailer hitting in just a few days, we now have a lot more to look out for in the May 2, 2014 debuting film.
