The Fantastic Four film reboot is still coming in 2015, but now in the summer, instead of the March 6 original release date. The June 19, 2015 release would seem to show confidence in the film on the part of Fox, and puts it smack in the middle between Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, for a one Marvel Comics based movie every 6 weeks average in 2015's Summer months. That does, however, put it directly up against an all-new Pixar film, Inside Out. There have been no casting announcements for Fantastic Four yet.

The shift was part of a larger "geek movie" mix for Fox. Secret Service, from a comic by Mark Millar, directed by Matthew Vaughn and marking another comic book movie for Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson, takes Fantastic Four's old March date, bumping back four months from its original November 14, 2014 release. Assassin's Creed, based on the video game franchise from Ubisoft, moves off June 19 to a new date of August 7, 2015. Share an Image or File
