The Wrap is reporting that Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has worked out scheduling conflicts over his publicity schedule for Legendary’s upcoming Godzilla reboot, enabling him to accept the role of Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in 2015's Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
"That potential obstacle has been overcome and his availability to properly promote that creature feature and shoot the Avengers sequel is now ensured," reports the site, adding the scheduled was worked out a deal agreed upon Wednesday. Marvel reportedly had no comment.
The Wrap does not report, however, that the same possible scheduling conflict exists for Taylor-Johnson's Godzilla co-star Elizabeth Olsen, reportedly the front-runner to play his twin sister Wanda Maximoff the Scarlet Witch. If his schedule has been cleared for him to accept the role, it may indicate Olsen's scheduled will be worked as well.
Ultimate Fantastic Four: The Movie?
If the latest casting rumors for the Fantastic Four film reboot turn out to be true, the movie could be moving more towards the Ultimate Comics take, featuring a group of four younger characters coming together as the team. Twenty-six year-old Miles Teller confirmed to Fandango that he is in talks, schedule-permitting, to play Reed Richards in the reboot. With a "head of family" that young, it sure seems to be skewing toward the Ultimate Fantastic Four take on the characters. In the series, not-so-coincidentally by Mark Millar, who is now Fox's Marvel movie maven, the kids are members of a think tank, not a long-established older group of adventurers.
