The fight isn't over for the DC Heroes and Villains in Injustice: Gods Among Us. With the new DLC-packed Injustice: Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition, fans will be able to buy the complete package of the game, all downloadable characters and skins, S.T.A.R. Labs Missions, and even the soundtrack to the game (soundtrack for U.S. only) all in one package.
But perhaps the bigger news, announced in a press release from WBIE, is that the Ultimate Edition isn't coming just to existing platforms of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but also to PlayStation 4, the portable PlayStation Vita, and by popular demand to Windows PC. The comprehensive release hits November 12, 2013 in the U.S., and "beginning" November 29, 2013 in Europe and other territories, says the release.
With all DLC included, WBIE values the package at over $120, but it will sell for $59.99 for PS4, PS3, and 360, $49.99 for the PC, and $39.99 for the Vita. The DLC includes Lobo, Batgirl, General Zod, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, and Mortal Kombat's Scorpion, over 40 alternate skins, 60 challenge missions, and a twelve-song soundtrack.
The PlayStation 4 version isn't just a port - WBIE says they've "remastered" the game to the PS4's specifications, and added PS4 specific functionality like support for the touchpad on the new DualShock 4 controller, and video sharing and streaming. High Voltage, who bumped the game up for PS4, is also handling the PC version, implying any graphical tweaks will come there as well.
The Vita version meanwhile, will include touch mini-games, "Collectible Hero Cards" which sounds like it's the iOS version of the game built in, all on top of the existing game with all DLC.
Injustice: Gods Among Us won critical acclaim for its innovation in the fighting game genre, as well as having a comprehensive story mode and a true focus on DC Comics characters and storylines. The tie-in comic, offered as a digital-first weekly serial from DC Comics, has likewise been a critical and sales success, regularly topping the digital charts worldwide.
