What exactly are Dark Horse Comics and CD Projekt RED teasing in this video?
Well, we'll be honest, we have no idea. The video came in an email blast from CD Projekt RED, not from Dark Horse, for what it's worth. Dark Horse has of course been establishing itself as the premiere video game comic book and art book publisher in recent years. They currently have either comics or art books for (but not limited to), Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Legend of Zelda, Tomb Raider, Halo, and more. CD Projekt RED has made huge strides in storytelling with their The Witcher series, with The Witcher 3 on the way in 2014 for next-gen systems, so a comic based on the project is a solid guess. But could it be something more? Could CD Projekt RED also be working on game projects for Dark Horse properties? After all, many Dark Horse-owned IPs are shown in the video. Could it be both? We can only hope.
Here's the only official statement we got from CD Projekt RED on the deal, but stay tuned for the full news at New York Comic Con.
"CD Projekt RED, the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a story-driven role playing video game, and Dark Horse Comics, one of the global leaders in comic book publishing, are thrilled to invite you to New York Comic Con, where they will unveil something truly special for fans of the fantasy genre.
There’s a mystery near the edge of the Black Forest.
