Not much to tell with this one. Vin Diesel updated his facebook cover photo early Thursday afternoon, showing this image of him seemingly recording voiceover alongside the spectral image of Groot, the butt-kicking tree he is rumored to voice in Guardians of the Galaxy.
As Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm him in the role, there has been some lasting speculation that he may have been toying with fans a bit, and offering Groot as a red herring before announcing a larger role for the action star. This image, however, seems to put any speculation to rest.
Groot is a tree-like humanoid from Planet X. He is known in the comics the film is based on for his large stature, his strength, his close frienship with teammate Rocket Raccoon, and his iconic catchphrase: "I AM GROOT!" Of course, those three words are all he can actually say - or rather, all most other humanoids in the universe can hear him say. Rocket insists Groot is actually incredibly intelligent, especially tactically, and can hear his oddly-structured vocal chords perfectly.
Is this image of Diesel saying "I AM GROOT" two hundred different ways? It sure seems that way.
Guardians of the Galaxy is filmiing now in London, England and is due for release August 1, 2014 from Marvel Studios.
