SAMUEL L. JACKSON In Comic Book Adaptation ... Again
Actor Samuel L. Jackson, a fixture in Marvel’s Movie Universe as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury, has found another comic book big-screen adaptation to star in.
Variety.com repots he’s been cast to play the villain in Fox’s The Secret Service, the Matthew Vaughan-directed adaptation of Mark Millar’s and Dave Gibbons’ ICON series. Colin Firth and Taron Egerton have already been cast as the heroes.
Vaughan and Jane Goodman wrote the screenplay.
The Hollywood trade reports casting the female lead is next on Vaughan’s agenda, with Emma Watson and Dark Shadows actress Bella Heathcote listed as candidates.
Production is expected to start this fall.
