A still very crowded comic-book-movie-adaptation 2013 just got a little less so.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dimension Films has moved Sin City: A Dame To Kill For from an October 4, 2013 release to August 22, 2014.

Robert Rodriguez and Sin City creator Frank Miller co-direct the sequel to the 2005 original starring holdover castmembers Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Powers Boothe, Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis along with newcomers Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Jamie Chung and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

No other major releases are currently scheduled to open opposite it, although that will likely change over the next year. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will open earlier in August, 2014.

A Dame To Kill For is the second Frank Miller-based comic book adaptation to move its release from 2013 to 2014 in a month. 300: Rise of an Empire was recently postponed from its August 2013 release date to March 7 2014.
