The newest mini-series from Zenescope Entertainment set in their popular Grimm Fairy Tales universe takes a personal loss and amplifies it into an action-packed fight against the very concept of Death.
In Grimm Fairy Tales: No Tomorrow, a new character, only identified for now as "a family man" will take the lead, as he tries to discover a method to defeat the avatar of Death itself - Keres, Goddess of Death, who has come to Earth to wreak havoc and reap destruction. His obsession, however, may lead to an even worse fate.
The story, written by Raven Gregory, comes from a place of personal loss, after losing a close personal friend in 2012. "At its core, No Tomorrow is about a man who decides to fight the inevitable, regardless of the consequences. It's horror in its purest form," says the writer.
The series will run five issues, and Zenescope touts it as "the scariest comic the company has published since the spine-tingling comic book prequel to the film Se7en back in 2007."
"I've wanted to do a story about an angel of death for a long time then Raven suddenly pitched this to Joe and I and we knew this was the right concept." said Zenescpe Editor-in-Chief, Ralph Tedesco in a press release. "Its tragic, scary and thrilling. It has a great hook and fantastic characters. I'm very excited to be part of this series."
The first issue of the series hits stands August, 2013 and is in PREVIEWS now. Like most Zenescope titles, there will be multiple covers, by Mike Krome, Harvey Tolibao, Stjepan Sejic, and Pasquale Qualano.
