Heath Ledger's JOKER Diary Seen in Documentary

Footage of a diary that late actor Heath Ledger kept while portraying The Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight surfaced online on Thursday. The clip, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is from a German documentary series titled Too Young to Die, though it's dubbed in French.

The footage is narrated by Ledger's father, Kim, and shows a peek at the actor's detailed notes for the Oscar-winning performance, including photos of clowns, comic book panels and images of Malcolm McDowell's character Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Kim Ledger notes that it was typical for Ledger to thoroughly prepare for the role, but is heard calling the Joker diary "a whole new level."
