Sonic/Mega Man: Worlds Collide is still going strong here in May, but come August, the two will once again split apart, leaving each other for solo adventures.

No one is more conscious of the need to come out swinging than writer Ian Flynn. "There will be a lot of people coming to the books for the first time thanks to the crossover, and we really want them to stick around for the further adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man," Flynn told Newsarama for this exclusive look forward. "So we’re going to have to hit the ground running with exciting, engaging stuff that will grab the new readers and make them stick around.  This is good news for our loyal fans as well since it means they’ll be getting the same quality stories they’ve been enjoying for years – and then some!"

He did stress, however, that Sonic, as far as comics go, is a pretty easy sell at this point. "Sonic has been running strong for over two hundred fifty issues because he’s so cool.  He’s got the moves, the attitude, and the self-confidence we all wish we had.  He’s just someone you like to root for." His affinity for Mega Man has grown thanks to the crossover, too. "Meanwhile, Mega Man is the other kind of hero – the selfless, humble and pure-hearted kind.  Just by being a weapon, he’s making a great sacrifice, and you can’t help but be drawn to that."

Executive Director of Editorial at Archie Comics Paul Kaminski, who oversees their video game comics, promises the stories when the heroes separate once more will directly spin out of Worlds Collide.

"Sonic/Mega Man WORLDS COLLIDE is a big story, with even BIGGER consequences!" says Kaminski.

"When the dust settles, the question will transform from "what happens after the heroes win?" to "will the heroes win?" And if they do win — at what cost? We can't say too much without spoiling stuff at this stage in the game, but not everything will be tied up with a neat little bow following Worlds Collide – it's in the aftermath in Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man where you will see what survives, and what does not! All we can tell you is, that all-new action BEGINS when the "collision" ENDS!"
