Lee Pace is "in final negotiations" to play the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy, according to a report from TheWrap.
The actor would join Chris Pratt, the only confirmed castmember, playing Star-Lord, Peter Quill. The other rumored cast members include Zoë Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Michael Rooker as classic Guardians alien Yondu.
This news comes just one day after Ophelia Lovibond was reported by THR as cast as "an aide to a near-immortal being called The Collector," a statement that was later changed to: "Details of Lovibond’s role are being kept in the farther reaches of deep space, home of Marvel's security bunker."
All that points to the reveal of The Collector coming too early, perhaps just before casting... Lee Pace in the role? TheWrap merely says "the identity of Pace's villainous character is being kept under wraps."
Expect more news, including official casting on Guardians of the Galaxy, soon, as the movie begins production in earnest for summer filming and an August 1, 2014 release.
