Jamie Foxx is playing Electro in next year's Amazing Spider-Man sequel, and the first images of the Oscar winner in character debuted via the New York Daily News on Tuesday.
The photos were shot at Times Square on Monday night, and indicate an early version of how the character will appear in the movie, before CGI and other after effects.
Electro, who first debuted in 1964's , is one of several classic Spidey characters set to be introduced in the next film, along with the Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and, in their first appearances since Marc Webb's 2012 reboot, Mary Jane Watson (Shailene Woodley) and Norman Osborn (Chris Cooper).
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, directed by Webb and featuring Andrew Garfield returning in the title role, is set for release on May 2, 2014.
