Star Trek's Zoe Saldana is in talks to play Gamora in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gamora is the lead female Guardians character, and if a deal happens, Saldana would be joining Parks and Recreation's Chris Pratt, playing Star-Lord; and former WWE champion Dave Bautista, who's been cast as Drax the Destroyer. The Guardians cast is rounded out by Rocket Raccoon and Groot, both characters who would presumably be rendered with CGI. Saldana plays Uhura in both 2009's Star Trek and the upcoming sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, and previously co-starred in 2010 comic book-based movie The Losers, along with her main role in Avatar. Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn, is scheduled for release on Aug. 1, 2014. FACEBOOK and TWITTER!
