Pulitzer-Winner Chabon Joins Fraction on New CASANOVA Volume

Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Michael Chabon is joining the next volume of Matt Fraction, Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon's creator-owned series Casanova, as revealed by Fraction on Monday.

Fraction stated that when the fourth volume starts "at the end of the year," the issues will include a main story by him and Moon, and back-up by shorts from Chabon and Bá.

Chabon has strong ties to the world of comic books, with his 2000 novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (which he won the Pulitzer for) telling the story of two fictional Golden Age comic creators. Chabon subsequently contribued to Dark Horse's comics featuring The Escapist, the superhero created by Kavalier and Clay in the novel.

Despite the announcement coming on April 1, Fraction has made it clear to several fans on Twitter and Tumblr that this is not an April Fools' prank. (Above art from the third volume of Casanova, "Avaritia.")
