Update: Well, that was quick — we asked for hints of the X-Men: Days of Future Past cast additions, and Deadline reports that Fan Bingbing will be playing Blink in the 2014 film.
Bingbing starred in 2012's Double Xposure, a major hit in her home country of China. She has also been reported to be playing a role in Iron Man 3. Though Blink wasn't a part of the original "Days of Future Past" comic book story, she was a major player in "Age of Apocalypse," so feel free to speculate accordingly on the significance of her reported inclusion.
A couple of more actors have subsequently come to light from Singer's photo: Daniel Cudmore, who played Colossus in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, and Twilight alum Booboo Stewart in an as-yet unspecified role. And assuming that's Nicholas Hoult (Beast) between Ian McKellen and Peter Dinklage, that's all images accounted for.
And sharp-eyed Newsarama Facebook poster Keith Grachow points out that there are 16 pictures on the bulletin board, the same number of images in the poster on the original cover of Uncanny X-Men #141 (below). You win the Internets, Bryan Singer.
Original story: Director Bryan Singer continues to use the Twitter Machine to start the hype machine early during pre-production of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Friday afternoon he tweeted out a photo of a bulletin board with headshots of his cast members, including a few photos of actors (and roles) the crack staff of Newsarama can't identify.
Also noteworthy is the seeming absence (at least so far) of some First Class and previous film cast members. So we want to ask our readers - do you recognize some of the new actors in the photos, particularly those on the bottom right?
And any ideas as to the significance or not of there grouping on the board? Head over to our Facebook page and let us know if you have any ideas.
(We also think Singer missed an opportunity to include "SLAIN" or "APPREHENDED" labels over the headshots.)
X-Men: Days of Future Past, starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Omar Sy and Peter Dinklage, is scheduled for release on July 18, 2014.
