Hero, by Perry Moore
The deal hinted at by author Perry Moore and Stan Lee at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con has finally been made clear as Variety reports that Moore’s novel Hero
about a gay teen superhero is being developed by Showtime. Moore and
Lee are executive producing, with Moore writing the script. The hour
long project also sees CEO of Lee’s Pow! Entertainment, Gill Champion
and Hunter Hill serving as executive producers.
As the novel is described by PRISM’s SDCC release, “Hero
is the first in a series of fantasy novels by openly gay film producer
and novelist Perry Moore. Hero tells the story of a teenage superhero,
Thom Creed, who must deal with his ex-superhero father's disgrace, his
own sexuality, and a murderer stalking the world's heroes.”
