Friday afternoon brought the latest Marvel Studios rumor from Latino Review, this time word that Jason Momoa is in negotiations to play Drax the Destroyer in Marvel Studios' 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The site states that Momoa screen-tested for the role on Wednesday, with Marvel then offering him the part, and the actor's reps countering. Latino Review says that Old Spice pitchman Isaiah Mustafa, pro wrestler Dave Bautista, and "Brian Patrick" (according to preview reports, 's Brian Patrick Wade) also tested for the role. Latino Review sites unnamed "sources," so this is definitely unconfirmed by Disney and Marvel at this point — and even the report just says they're in negotiations, so there's always a chance something might fall through. Momoa is likely best known for his role as Khal Drogo in , and also starred in the title role of 2011's reboot film. Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled for release on Aug. 1, 2014. Earlier this month, Deadline reported that 's Chris Pratt had been cast in the main role of Star-Lord. Got a comment? There's lots of conversation on Newsarama's FACEBOOK and TWITTER!
