New AGE OF ULTRON Images: #7, UNCANNY AVENGERS

The Age of Ultron is still "on the way," but already we've had another new event teased, and before issue #1 drops, issue #7 is already being featured. To say this one will be a fast-paced event is likely a major understatement.

The latest image, likely the cover to the aforementioned Age of Ultron #7, lends credence to the theory that the world seen in the pages of this event will be either an alternate or drastically altered Marvel Universe. There's a one-eyed Cyclops, what looks like Cable in a Captain America uniform (or is Cable the Cyclops looking one? Check the metal arm! Thanks, reader Alex Ramirez!), Black Widow (?) in a patriotic Captain Marvel outfit, a beat-up dented Thing, severely scarred Hulk, Dr. Strange looking relatively normal, what appears to be a very different looking Star-Lord, and Wolverine in the brown and tan duds he hasn't worn in years.

More on Age of Ultron as the full solicitations for May 2013 hit next week.

Update: And here's another Age of Ultron image, this time the cover to May's tie-in issue Uncanny Avengers #8AU, illustrated by Jim Cheung. Here's how Marvel describes it:

"The Uncanny Avengers must band together and make their way throughout this new dystopian world. But when The Apocalypse Twins and Kang are involved, will they make it out of the Age of Ultron in one piece? And when Havok and Rogue set off to save the Morlocks, what secret will Rogue unearth about the Twin's hidden past?"

The issue is co-written by series regular Rick Remender and his The Last Christmas collaborator (and current Deadpool co-writer) Gerry Duggan, and illustrated by Adam Kubert.

"We've been setting up the role of Apocalypse, the Apocalypse Twins in the Marvel Universe, and with this issue readers get their first in-depth look at them and a major reveal in regards to Kang's involvement in it all," Remender said in Marvel's press release. "It also hints at a big future romance we're developing. Do not miss this issue."
